Listed below is the link for the official FREE credit report that consumers are entitled to annually. You can pull one report from each of the three credit bureaus. A good strategy is to pull one report from one bureau, then 4 months later pull from the second bureau, then 4 months later, pull from the third bureau. That way you can effectively monitor your credit for an entire year for free.

However getting your credit score for free is completely different. Even through the link below, you will be asked to pay to obtain your credit scores, but not the credit report itself. The government only allows free access to your credit report, not credit scores.

Most of the ads that are about suggesting that you can obtain a credit score for free, usually require you to sign up for a monitoring service or something similar to obtain your “free” credit score, so the process there is obviously not free.

    Hope that helps!!

All the credit reporting agencies are required by federal law to provide you with one free copy of your credit report every year.

All you have to do is go online to Experian or any of the other two agencies and fill in the blanks. You’ll have to register on a secure site and it will be sent to you.

It’s a very good idea to keep tabs on your credit report. You should get the report from each of the three main agencies.
