Unified Payments Now Shipping Contactless Point-of-Sale Terminal

Unified Payments Now Shipping Contactless Point-of-Sale Terminal
MIAMI, FL (PRWEB) September 04, 2012
Unified Payments™ and DejavooSM Systems are pleased to announce that new point-of-sale terminals based on the V Series POS product line are now shipping for both the Unified Payments line of business and their Process Pink brand — the payment transaction business unit that has a longstanding and exclusive fundraising relationship with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. These specially configured state-of-the-art V8 units from Dejavoo Systems have traditional swipe capability as well as EMV, Contactless (RFID), and Dual-Communication capability.
For merchants interested in quick-turn commerce and for customers on-the-run, the V8 is fully capable of accepting tap and go transactions from EMV and Non EMV RFID cards – as well as traditional magnetic stripe cards while maintaining the highest degree of security available. Boasting an array of installer and merchant friendly features and capabilities, these versatile terminals address real business disputed faced every day. Fully flexible reporting lets users get the information they need – how they need it – which makes the merchant’s transition to the V8 easy. Plus, once custom formats are created they can be saved and run with the touch of a button.
“Having technologically superior and visually striking terminals to process payments is important for all of our merchants, but of even greater importance for our Process Pink Payments brand because the terminal’s pink body and signature logo lets the customer know that their transaction is facilitating a contribution to the National Breast Cancer Foundation”, said Oleg Firer, Unified Payments Executive Chairman. Mr. Firer added, “The V8 terminal platform also gives us a richer set of features, a robust design and significant cost savings associated with supporting the devices – all of which contribute to our ability to lower processing costs for our customers.”
The full onboard user guide presents complete product information and guides operators every step of the way. No more misplaced manuals that frustrate merchants and generate unnecessary service calls. And because even the best terminal can’t transmit if both the IP and/or dial connections are down, the Store & Forward feature means that transactions can continue at an unrestricted pace. This eliminates the inconvenience of “cash only” sales or having to manually write down card numbers – a security and efficiency nightmare! The USB port connection makes it possible to complete downloads and installations in under a minute. Updates can be implemented by merchants via a mailed thumb drive or a quick on-site visit.
Businesses that want to build relationships and grow sales can use the V8 terminal to establish their own “card-free” fully customized customer loyalty program. By using enhanced points offerings, they can promote more traffic on the days of their choice, or print earned discount coupons that improve customer retention. For service and retail businesses looking to eliminate those awkward moments associated with tipping, the V8’s presale ticket function prints a dummy receipt with the charge amount and a customer “fill-in” for tips. This forever ends the uncomfortable dialog asking if the customer wants to put the tip on the card used for payment. If the customer wants to tip multiple people, that can be processed as well.
“The associations announced mandates for increase security and shifting liability to merchants unless they maintain the highest security level in their terminals to include Contactless (RFID) readers for EMV cards. Contactless (RFID) cards facilitates a bridge to new generation Credit Cards with Improved Secure Access Module or “SAM” that facilitate “Chip and Pin” and “Tap and Go” programs like other world markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America which is unafraid and a more efficient method of electronic payments”, say Mr. Mony Zenou, Dejavoo President and CEO. Mr. Zenou adding, “We are also preparing for Near Field Communication (NFC) readers which will accept mobile payment apps under development such as Google Wallet and ISIS which we believe will be commercially available to Tier 4 (“Mom & Pop”) merchants early next year. We are in final phases of our NFC reader certification and expect it to be inter-changeable with current Vega RFID contactless readers to accept both standards. We are extremely delight that these terminals serve as a core solution for Unified Payments as split of their worldwide upgrade first to deliver the latest PCI security enhancements.”
Product Specifications:
IP and Dial communication ports EMV 4.0 L1 and L2 Certified Built in Contactless RFID Reader 64 MB Memory Store & Forward Secure Internal PIN Pad Up to 20 Programmable Hot Keys PCI PED 2.x Certified 32 bit high-speed secure microprocessor Powered by Linux based OS and SQLite database Graphical liquid crystal exhibited with backlight

Google Upgrades Wallet App with Revolutionary Technology

Google Upgrades Wallet App with Revolutionary Technology
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 02, 2012
RoadFish.com men’s lifestyle and finance magazine today reacted to the news that Google has been able to expand the scope of its new “Wallet” app by congratulating them on a considerable feat, and speculating about the future of handheld technology.
The New York Times’ Claire Cain Miller reported that Google’s app, Wallet, offers consumers a way to pay for purchases in store without ever taking a credit card or cash out of their wallet. Instead, the user simply taps the phone to a machine instead of swiping a card, thus eliminating the need for a wallet. Miller writes that very recently, Google hit gold with a breakthrough in the technology so that the app is now compatible with any credit card on the market, whereas in the past it was only good for Citibank and MasterCards. The app does, however, only work on a very limited amount of phones, including a handful of Sprint and Virgin Mobile Smartphones.
The above-mentioned article highlights Google’s advancement as being noteworthy because the new technology eliminates the need to get permission from mobile carriers, credit card companies and other banks every time an user wants to make a purchase using the Wallet app. Miller reports that Google has essentially figured out a way to bypass having to negotiate with thousands of issuing banks regarding the credit cards in order to get the go-ahead for every single purchase. The other good feature about Google’s new change is that an user is capable of disabling the Wallet app from a remote location online, in the event that their phone is lost or stolen.
RoadFish.com offered its hearty approval to Google for the breakthrough in technology. RoadFish.com’s Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, “Hats off to Google for really coming through on this one. They are right there in the game alongside Apple, and I think this app is about to be a life-changer. The doors have already been opened wide in terms of the capabilities of a phone, and it seems as though Google and Apple are neck-and-neck in leading the march. I am really impressed with the way this app has progressed, and the guys over at Google who worked on this should be mighty proud.”
Miller reports that companies like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are working on other methods to allow people to use their phones to make purchases at retail stores, but the roadblock they are running into is needing the agreement of the not only the retailers but of the banks, the credit card companies, and of the phone carriers. Google’s Wallet app is ahead of the game in that it uses near-field communication (NFC) which links the phones with the retailers’ networks. There are reportedly around 200,000 stores currently equipped with this technology.
RoadFish.com today questioned where Smartphone technology will be down the road, now that the road is being paved to have a person’s phone take on much of their everyday tasks such as making payments, accessing bank statements, and of course emailing and acting as a personal digital assistant. RoadFish.com’s Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, “There are about a million things that you can do on a phone these days. In the past week, I’ve watched a movie on my phone, checked my emails about ten times a day, had Face Time with friends where I’ve been able to see the people I’m talking to, scanned a document by taking a picture of it with my phone, checked my credit report, and made bank transfers. All from the palm of my hand. It’s absolutely incredible to me that phone technology has come this far in the past fifteen years, and I am so curious to see where it will be in another fifteen.”
Google’s Wallet app is described in the iTunes store as being something of a “flexible, personal database, where you can store all of your web passwords, software license keys, credit card numbers, and more.” The financial software app does feature a military-strength encryption for security purposes and it is available in the iTunes app store for $ 9.99.

Penn State?s World Campus Reports 22 Percent Growth

Penn State’s World Campus Reports 22 Percent Growth
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —
(PRWEB) June 08, 2012 — The number of students learning online through Penn State’s World Campus grew 22 percent, from 9,380 to 11,420, from academic year 2010–11 to 2011–12. Enrollments in online courses also increased 19 percent, from 39,219 to 46,693.
“Penn State’s enrollment growth in online programs is more than double the home average of 10 percent reported in the latest Sloan Consortium appraised,” said Wayne Smutz, executive director of Penn State World Campus and associate vice president for Academic Outreach. “Credit for this success is shared with Penn State’s academic colleges and campus partners. They collaborate with the World Campus to deliver their programs online.”
Established in 1998, the World Campus delivers more than 80 graduate, undergraduate and professional education programs online to students in every state and many countries worldwide.
The top five online academic programs are:
Psychology (B.A. and B.S.), College of the Liberal Arts Geographic information systems graduate programs, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Information sciences and technology undergraduate and graduate programs, College of Information Sciences and Technology Intercollege MBA (iMBA), Smeal College of Business, Penn State Erie Black School of Business, Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies and Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration Human resources and employment relations master’s degree, College of the Liberal Arts
Offering Penn State degrees and certificates online through the World Campus can be beneficial for students, because several programs include faculty members across multiple academic colleges and campuses. In the iMBA, for example, faculty members from four schools of business are educating students.
As Ashutosh Deshmukh, iMBA program chair and professor of accounting and MIS at the Penn State Erie Black School of Business, explains, the program has many advantages: “Only the graduate faculty members who are effective teachers and have strong publication records teach in the program. The iMBA also offers the Penn State brand name, AACSB accreditation, a program with a specific mission and vision, and a strong practical component to the education.”
Another component helping to increase online enrollments is the World Campus’ coordinated national advertising/marketing campaign and redesign of the website, which since last July have resulted in nearly 1.8 million website visits; more than 53,500 requests for information (RFIs) about academic programs, including 6,200 RFIs from the mobile website; and a 19 percent increase in mobile site traffic.
Visit http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/ to learn more about Penn State’s online programs.
Penn State World Campus specializes in adult online education, delivering more than 80 of Penn State’s most highly regarded graduate, undergraduate and professional education programs through convenient online formats. World Campus is part of Penn State Outreach, which serves more than 5 million people each year, in all 67 Pennsylvania counties, all 50 states and more than 100 countries worldwide.

The easiest way is through Annualcreditreport.com http://www.annualcreditreport.comThis is the government mandated website where you can get ABSOLUTELY FREE credit report (won’t even ask for your credit card number) from the 3 credit report agencies. You can get 1 free credit report per year (but you can’t get credit score)

Question by seanhazen: What is the best and most cost effective “pay” service to pull customer credit reports?
We are an outsourced call center providing service support to a debt counsellor. We require a method to pull credit reports on those customers that ask for their services. We are looking for a legitimate pay service that is dependable, speedy, complete and cost effective.

Is there a central location to view and print all three of your credit reports?

Question by ~just.me~: Is there a central location to view and print all three of your credit reports?
From Transunion, Equifax and Experian? I need copies of all three, but each you must pay 14 to 30 dollars EACH for. Is there one place I can pay One fee and get all of the TRUE reports. I need to dispute a few things on my credit, but I already viewed my free credit reports around 6 months ago, and I am not eligible to view for free.Yes, I already went to annualcreditreport.com and got my reports around 6 months ago, so they no longer let me in. Should I wait until I am eligible again to view for free, and then do my disputes? I just don’t understand my I have to pay for my reports and send them in to the company I got the report from in order to file a dispute.

www.annualcreditreport.comThis is the government mandated website. You can get allthreeof them for free. Once a year. There is no sign up or cost. They have to give you your report free once a year.UPDATEIf you know what you are disputing just dispute them. When you dispute something they will send you an answer saying why they took it off or why they didnt. You get the credit report either way.

Question by : Credit Reports – Are they going to be as important in the future?
I have to wonder, in this economy with foreclosures out the wazzoo. Do you think credit reports will be given the weight that had prior to the “Recession of ’08″?

Yes….with one caveat. If the only negative on your credit report is a foreclosure, banks will probably overlook that in the future.But….if your bad credit is due to credit card or other personal loans, you will still have trouble getting credit in the future.

My credit is horrifying. Unfortunately, it’s a little hard for me to understand my credit reports. I want to find out which items I can have removed or dispute.

Go to your bank and have the personal banker look them over with you. They’ll do it for free.
